moments of chic

Now that the weather is getting colder it has become a little challenging to do outfit shoots. I'm not a fan of taking off my coat and freezing my butt off and apparently it shows in my face and posture. I'd never make it on America's Next Top Model, you know, standing in times square in a bikini in the snow. That's the kind of "challenge" they do on that show right? While I will have to work this out eventually, in the meantime I am happy to feature my favorite coats as part of my outfits because if this is street style, no one is walking around Manhattan without one these days.

Lately I have been living in this one from PiperlimeThe asymmetrical front drapes perfectly and is so cozy zipped up, it's like wearing a blanket in coat form, while the faux leather sleeves add a little edge. It captures that cool downtown feel that I love. To complete the look I paired it with a long black tee, bordeaux colored pants, and my trusty ankle boots; a look that has become my everyday uniform.

  1. That jacket is perfect!! I love the leather on it - gives it a little bit of edge!!

  2. I don't know how these models do- pose in next to nothing in the freezing cold! My face always ends up looking twisted, like I'm in pain. Ha. Not cute.

LOVE the coat; what a great piece! Piperlime is the best. :)

  3. I absolutely love this coat!! Those leather sleeves are very downtown!! I hear you on the challenge of taking outfit pics this time of the year...#bloggerproblems! I literally take my coat off, freeze for five minutes and pray we get a few good shots! Brrr...

  4. This coat is awesome!! Love the tweed and leather mix.

  5. Oooh I love Queen Vic. I'm not normally a pink polish fan but it's got more depth than that. Brrrrrr looks cold over there. :] // ▲ ▲
