holiday party

I have had my eye on this romper for quite a while but have held out for a couple of reasons, mostly because I don't care for the process of having to get in and out of them should you need to use the restroom. It can't be just me that has that much trouble with them, right? Maybe it's because I'm lazy, less talented at using public toilets, or missing a crucial piece of information that would make the whole process a cake walk, but it always ends up feeling too time consuming for me to want to deal with. Last Saturday when getting dressed for our friends' holiday party, I came up with this very similar look with more champagne friendly pieces. I have worn this silky Joie top and Maje skirt adorned with velvet polka dots many times before in various different ways but never thought to combine them. I must say I was quite pleased with the way it turned out and will probably be wearing this again for our Christmas Eve party or at the very least an upcoming date night.

Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful Thursday!

  1. I love what you came up with to try to recreate the romper look!! That skirt is so cute and yes I agree while rompers are so cute - getting in and out to go to the bathroom is pain!!! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  4. that romper is so pretty but you really did recreate it pretty well! i love how the polka dot skirt brings it up a notch. i usually find rompers pretty okay but jumpsuits are a whole other story. wore one in vegas and had to ask the bathroom attendant to help me get back into it hahhaa.

  7. Hahah "champagne friendly pieces" loved that! And so true- for me the worst part is having to sit in your bra, and hoping someone doesnt accidentally glance in that slight door crack in the bathroom stall. Because I would look nuts, sitting half naked there. But real talk, that romper you want is GORGEOUS. Those velvet shorts! This is a great alternative though- I love the glittery polka dots :)

  9. Love this outfit girl! That skirt is so cute! I've been loving tights lately, I just wish it was cool enough for me to wear them! And rompers are definitely not champagne friendly so this one is definitely a much better outfit! Have a great weekend!
