something wicked

something wicked | black sweater + burgundy pants

Like a charm, each Autumn I turn to darker colors. Deep shades of burgundy seem to be my favorite. I've been wanting a handbag in this shade, painted my nails Essie's 'wicked', and have been searching for pants like these for a long time. I'm happy to say that I finally found the perfect pair, and on sale no less. I actually have these Vince pants in olive and love them more than any other pair. They are so comfortable, soft and stretchy and hold up to frequent wears. When I came across them on sale in this wine colored hue I knew I had to get them, and so I did.

The weather was overcast when I got dressed yesterday so I decided on a moody, April Ludgate inspired look, with a loose knit black sweater, ankle boots, and my new evil eye bracelet from Jemulet. I need all of the help I can get these days. After all, I have mastered the Liz Lemon eye roll. I know what you're thinking. That is a really bold thing to say, how the hell would you even know that? Well, I have an answer for you. New York is a stressful city to live in when you dislike crowds and commuting. A couple of weeks ago I was running late, on my way out of the subway when an oblivious family stepped in front of me. I rolled my eyes in that overly dramatic fashion that we all love Tina Fey for, and the girl walking besides me noticed and laughed, not because she took enjoyment in my frustration, she was blocked too, but because she recognized what I was doing, a nod of approval. I kind of like it when that happens, when you have an unspoken agreement with a stranger, it's fun.

Happy Wednesday everyone, and thank you for reading!
