Yesterday JD and I both had the day off and though it was rainy we decided to play tourist. We began our day with coffee and almond croissants from our favorite local pastry shop before walking over to Washington Square Park to snap a few pictures. It's fun to play tourist in your own city, you get to see things with a fresh pair of eyes when you're not rushing off to the next thing. We admired the ceiling at Grand Central Station, and at the New York Public Library, did a little shopping, met up with a dear friend for drinks, and caught Dustin Lynch performing in Bryant Park. It was such a wonderful day.
I decided it would probably be best to wear comfortable shoes as we had no idea how much walking we'd end up doing. We did a lot, so it was a good call. I kept it simple with a burgundy t-shirt, black pants, and my very favorite gray printed scarf. I found it in a small shop in Montauk back in 2009 and almost didn't get it. It was one of those things that I thought about after leaving the store and a half hour I was wearing it. Finding things like that, that you can't stop thinking about is always fun, unless you pass up on it and continue to think about it for the next four years. Hello Tory Burch riding boots from last fall.
Some snaps from our day (mostly the library) below.
