Happy Monday! Thank you so much for all of your well wishes, I'm feeling much better today. Hopefully this is the last cold I catch for a good long time.

Back in the day while I was away at college a new shop opened up in my home town. When I returned for breaks my mother would take me there to shop. It was my kind of place, they always had the loveliest dresses and this one winter white Milly coat that still crosses my mind every now and then.

The shop was small but the owner and I wore the same size so there was always something to try. This Milly dress was one of those things. It had been heavily discounted and though I had no place to wear it at the time, I tried it on anyway. It fit perfectly and spent the next year hanging in my closet, patiently waiting to be worn.

I wore it for college graduation and my twenty second birthday and until the weekend before last it had resumed taking up space in my closet. I was a little nervous wearing this dress to a wedding. There is a lot of white in that pattern and though there is an equal amount of navy to balance it out, I didn’t want to draw any attention away from the gorgeous bride (not that that would have been possible). Turns out, a lot of ladies in attendance also wore bits of white in their dresses, including a couple of floor length numbers that I probably would have felt too uncomfortable in. To each their own.

  3. I think the dress is gorgeous, especially with your orange bag! I've worn dresses to weddings before with white in the pattern and felt like they're appropriate. I've seen a lot of people in off white shades at weddings lately which I feel is a step too far.

  4. Looking stunning! Milly is the best and this dress is so pretty on you. The fit is perfect. Can we talk about the bag? Celine, very few do it better. The color, gorgeous! Love this entire look. You're styled perfectly.

As for being respectful of the bride, I agree, it's virtually impossible to upstage a bride. Wearing a long dress to a wedding, leave that for a black tie wedding.

  5. Love that dress on you!! And I agree on the floor length gown for a wedding. I feel like that is more reserved for the bride and bridal party. I'd probably feel pretty awkward too! I definitely think your dress is wedding appropriate though!

  6. This is a perfect outfit for a wedding. I honestly don't understand women who wear completely white or floor length dresses to other people's weddings. It's like they're trying to draw attention to themselves on someone else's special day.

  17. Hello, gorgeous! I'm talking to your Celine bag. Oh, and to you, too. Seriously, that dress fits perfectly, and after owning it for several years, that's the ultimate compliment. On a fat day, I can't squeeze in to my jeans from 6 months ago. ;)
